Overview: The LMU working group “Microbial Biochemistry” is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD student position in Microbiology (Salary Scale E13 TV-L 65%). We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is enthusiastic about the biochemical diversity of bacteria and has proven expertise in a microbiology wet lab. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in a dynamic and collaborative research environment.
Position Details:
- Start Date: As soon as possible

- Funding: Fully funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG)
- Location: LMU Biocenter, High-Tech Campus Martinsried, Munich, Germany
Project Description: The selected candidate will contribute to our research on glycomicrobiology, focusing on bacterial rhamnosylation. The project involves using state-of-the-art technologies in microbial genetics and biochemistry.
Employment Conditions:
- Qualifications: Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience working with bacteria is mandatory. Proficiency in molecular biological and biochemical methods is required. Evidence of successful scientific activity through publications is desirable.
