Funded Ph.D. Position in Construction Management at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA

The School of Building Construction at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, is pleased to announce an opening for a fully funded Ph.D. position starting in Spring 2025. The successful candidate will join the Emerging Technologies for Builders Lab, under the supervision of Dr. Jing Wen.

About the Lab:

Our lab focuses on two main areas:

  1. Optimization of construction processes using advanced technologies.
  2. Human-technology interactions within the construction management sector.

Our research is interdisciplinary, exploring fields such as immersive computing technologies, construction safety, education science, vocational behaviors, and workforce recruitment and retention in the construction industry.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A high level of self-motivation and a genuine interest in research.
  • An M.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in human subject research.
  • Experience with virtual environment development or game engines (e.g., Unity).
  • A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
