Graduate Research Assistantship: Funded PhD Opportunity Starting Fall 2024

Funding & Timeline:

  • Stipend: $2500/Month
  • Includes: Tuition Waiver
  • Project Duration: 2024-2027

Qualifications:

  • Seeking a research-focused graduate student
  • Strong academic background (BS or MS/MEng in a science or engineering discipline)

Project Description:

Apply hydrological modeling techniques and a paired watershed approach to understand the impacts of prescribed fire management on streamflow, streamflow generation processes, and nutrient export (stream-water and soil chemistry) in fire-prone California. The project includes extensive collaboration with the Karuk Tribe, who traditionally use prescribed fire for sustainable resource management.

Fieldwork:

  • Includes funding for applicable fieldwork and instrumentation
