Applied Magnetics and Photonics (AMPS) Lab
Programmable Integrated Photonics and In-Memory Photonic Computing
The AMPS Lab in the ECE Department of Boise State University is looking for a motivated graduate student interested in pursuing a PhD in the area of integrated photonics.
Project Responsibilities –
- Design and model photonic devices such as interferometers, resonators and directional couplers.
- Fabricate and test photonic devices integrated with advanced materials using microfabrication techniques and bench-top optical measurement systems.
- Design and develop nanotransducers to provide thermal and magnetic stimuli in integrated photonics.
- Present in leading conferences, publish your work in leading journals and be an active member of the vibrant Boise State community.
Requirements
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering/Materials Science/Physics or a related field.
- Knowledge of electromagnetics, photonics, microfabrication and optical characterization.
- Knowledge of simulation tools – Ansys Lumerical, COMSOL, LabView.
- Strong writing/presentation skills.
