The laboratory of Ka Wai Ma at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB) invites applications for a research assistant (RA) and/or postdoctoral position. The lab has a long-term interest in understanding the principle that maintains plant microbiota homeostasis. Our group has previously shown that activation of immunity and modulation of immune responses by members of the bacterial microbiota affect plant- microbiota homeostasis. To understand the underlying genetic basis and molecular mechanisms, we invite applications for one of the following projects:

  • Investigation of the genetic basis of plant microbiota homeostasis using molecular techniques and CRISPR technology
  • Mechanistic study of how members of the bacterial microbiota interfere with the plant immune response using biochemical means
