Seeking a Driven Individual for Ph.D. Position in Sustainable Building Materials Research

Start Date and Funding: We are looking for a candidate to join our research team by September 2024. This position is fully funded, and the application deadline is June 1, 2024.
Project Overview: Our project focuses on developing innovative earth-based 3D printable materials and exploring efficient pathways for carbon sequestration in 3D-printed components. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team, gaining hands-on experience in material development for large-scale 3D printers. Additionally, we aim to understand the fundamental physicochemical mechanisms driving carbon sequestration into earth-based materials, with the ultimate goal of creating scalable and sustainable infrastructure materials.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., infrastructure materials and geotechnical engineering).
- Proficiency in characterization methods such as X-Ray Diffraction, Thermogravimetric analysis, and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a dedication to sustainable development.
Desired Skills:
- Some experience with 3D printing.
- Familiarity with engineering characterization methods (e.g., strength and durability tests).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred: Candidates currently residing in the United States will be given preference.
