PhD Graduate Research Assistantship in Water Resources – Oklahoma State University

The Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University (OSU) is inviting applications for one or two Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistantship (GRA) positions in Water Resources. The selected candidates will join the Hydrological Extremes Lab (HEL) and can begin their Ph.D. studies in Spring 2024, Summer 2025, or Fall 2025.

About the Hydrological Extremes Lab:

The Hydrological Extremes Lab focuses on advanced research to address critical challenges related to flooding and drought. The lab leverages a variety of cutting-edge techniques in modeling and managing these natural hazards. Research methods include:

  • Hydrologic and hydrodynamic modeling
  • Geospatial methods using GIS
  • Machine learning approaches
  • Data assimilation techniques

Desired Qualifications:

We seek motivated, talented candidates who exhibit:

  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Interest in working with big data using high-performance computing systems
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Python)

Applicants with a background in hydrologic/hydrodynamic/data-driven modeling are highly encouraged to apply.
