PhD Position Available in Small Grains Pathology Lab at Oklahoma State University for Fall 2024/Spring 2025

The Small Grains Pathology Lab at Oklahoma State University is seeking a passionate PhD student to join our team in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. The successful candidate will focus on identifying disease resistance genes in wheat, with the goal of applying findings to winter wheat breeding programs in the U.S. Southern Great Plains. The candidate will also coordinate research projects with the OSU wheat improvement team and other collaborators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. MS in Plant Pathology, Crop Science, Plant Genetics and Breeding, or a closely related field.
  2. Experience in gene mapping, genotyping, phenotyping, genomics, greenhouse management, field small plot research, and marker-assisted selection.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
