PhD Position in Aerospace Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, USA

Dr. Saman Farhangdoust

I am very excited to announce that I will be joining the Aerospace Engineering Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor this Fall.

Please distribute this within your network: I’ll be recruiting highly motivated students for multiple fully-funded Ph.D. positions at the Smart And Multifunctional Metastructures (#SAMM) research group for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025.

If you have a MS/BS degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering (or related areas) and are passionate about contributing to multidisciplinary research aimed at developing a new class of aerospace structures, please feel free to email me a copy of your transcripts and CV (including a list of at least 3 references) to sfarhang@stanford.edu with the email subject “SAMM_PhD Applicant_Your Full Name.”

Preference will be given to candidates with a background in one or more of the following areas:

* Design and manufacturing of FRP composite structures

* Multiphysics modeling and simulation

* Metamaterials design and optimization

* Smart wearables

* Structural health monitoring and signal processing

* Li-ion or solid-state batteries

* Piezoelectric or triboelectric materials

I will begin reviewing applications on June 1, 2023, and will continue until the positions are filled.
