PhD Position in Community Nutrition and Health Behavior University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign

Dr. Saima Hasnin, Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is seeking a PhD student to join the Childhood Health Behavior and Sustainability Lab. The lab focuses on projects related to federal nutrition programs, childhood obesity prevention, and community-based nutrition interventions.

Key Requirements:

  • Educational Background: MS in nutrition, public health, social work, exercise, or related fields.
  • Skills and Experience:
    • Research experience and familiarity with methods.
    • Analytical skills, including statistical and nutrient analyses.
    • Passion for community-engaged research.
    • Experience working with children and low-income communities is preferred.
    • Strong teamwork, communication, and technical abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate 20 hours/week to lab activities while developing independent research.
  • Involvement in data collection, analysis, manuscript writing, and grant applications.
  • Flexible 4-year position depending on progress and goals.
