The Goff Environmental Microbiology Lab at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) is recruiting a PhD student in Environmental Microbiology Lab Biochemistry to join the lab starting Fall 2024!
Our research examines how complex combinations of environmental stressors such as heavy metals and other contaminants impact the activities of key microbial populations. Additionally, we are exploring adaptive evolution in the context of these stressors, with a particular focus on the role of mobile genetic elements in this process.
We are looking for a student with strengths in one or more of the following areas:
- Molecular biology
- Microbial physiology
- Microbial ecology
- Genomics
Interest applicants should send a brief statement of interest (~half page) and a CV to Jennifer Goff at jegoff@esf.edu
