A PhD Student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA)
I am seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on interdisciplinary built environment research addressing air quality, health, and climate change, beginning in August 2024. My research group focuses on building environmental and energy systems, air pollutant control and mitigation strategies, low-cost air quality sensors, field measurements and modeling, and biostatistics for health outcomes.
The candidates would ideally have a master’s degree in relevant fields, but not limited to: architectural and environmental engineering, environmental science, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, and public health. A strong undergraduate student applying to the PhD program would be also considered. Candidates with experience in building science and air quality research projects and proficiency with programming languages, e.g., Python, MATLAB, and R, are highly preferred.
Interested candidates should email me (insung.kang@uta.edu) with a C.V. and a brief statement describing the candidate’s interest, qualifications, and research experience (Max 1 page).
