Unique Opportunity to Pursue a PhD in Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University

The use of single-cell RNA sequencing (ScRNA-seq) or snRNA-seq has shed light on the transcriptomic heterogeneity within plants and other systems, unveiling shared and distinctive signatures that define cell identities and functions (Liu et al. 2024 bioRxiv; Palmer et al. 2024 bioRxiv; Keshyp et al. 2024 bioRxiv). To understand the impact of climate change and biotic stresses, the students will be performing single-cell or single-nuclei sequencing as well as single-nuclei multiome in different systems including Arabidopsis, duckweed and soybean.

The positions will start in the Summer or Fall of 2024. The successful applicant will have skills and experience in one or more areas including molecular biology etc.
