We’re looking for a dedicated PhD candidate to join the research team led by Dr. Prasad Daggupati at the University of Guelph. This position focuses on developing a spatial decision support system (SDSS) to guide agricultural watershed management practices in Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Design a web-based SDSS framework to aid policymakers and farmers in implementing BMPs across different scales.
- Utilize modeling outputs and optimization algorithms to offer tailored BMP recommendations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the inclusivity and effectiveness of the SDSS.
- Contribute to sharing research findings through open-access channels.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, computer science, geographic information systems, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., R, Java, SQL, Docker) and web development frameworks.
- Experience with spatial data analysis and modeling tools (e.g., GIS, SWAT).
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
