PhD Position in Cannabis Genomics and Breeding at the Université Laval, Québec City, Canada

Project Title: Genetics of Cannabis Resistance against Powdery Mildew

Required Qualifications:

  • MSc degree in Plant Genetics, Plant Breeding, or Plant Molecular Biology
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (ideally in both English and French)
  • A proven publication record

The ideal candidate should have a solid background in plant genetics and breeding, genomics (DNA and RNA sequencing), and bioinformatics (Python and R).

Applicants who do not meet these criteria will not be evaluated.

Working Environment: Our lab is located in the Department of Plant Sciences at Université Laval in Québec City with state-of-the-art facilities. The candidate will have access to a fully equipped genomics lab and cutting-edge growth chamber and greenhouse facilities, largest cannabis research facility in the country. The environment is diverse and multicultural.
